About the OCNA
The Ontario Crisis Negotiator Association was formed in 2023 as a non-profit organization for negotiators, by negotiators.
It has been created to be an educational based association for Police Crisis Negotiators, Correctional Crisis Negotiators, Industry Associates, Mental Health Professionals and First Responders throughout Ontario and beyond.
The primary goal of the OCNA is to improve the knowledge, skills and abilities of our members by providing unique training opportunities, conferences and events.
Additionally, the OCNA is dedicated to:
- Encouraging cooperation within the crisis negotiator community, mental health professionals and police leadership;
- Encourage a high level of professionalism and consistency within the crisis negotiator community;
- Advocate on behalf of our members to address issues and concerns; and
- Encouraging peer support and friendship.
